Bobbin Lace: If you can count to 4, then you can learn the basics of bobbin lace using just three simple stitches. (Equipment will be provided for class use only; purchase of equipment is optional)
Tatting: Using one simple knot, learn the basics of shuttle or needle tatting. Join the latest decorating craze, "Granny Chic," to make your own tatted accessories. Kit options available for needlework groups, please ask.
African Folklore Embroidery: Unusual, creative and colorful, using African threads and beads against a black background, you will embroider images of Ndebele life as you learn about the lifestyle and customs of this fascinating culture. The Ndebele women of South Africa, famous for their beautiful and colorful handcrafted work, are the inspiration for many of the designs. Frame, quilt, or make into a purse, totebag or pillow. A fun project for adults and children (ages 8 and older) - - no experience necessary! Kit options available for needlework groups, please ask. Please let us know of your interest and a class can be scheduled when there are at least 4 persons.
Lecture
Hisory and Identification of Lace: an informative and entertaining look at the mystery and intrigue that has surrounded the use and making of lace since the 1600's...includes a display of old lace and demonstration of lacemaking. This presentation can be tailored to fit your group.
